Art After Dark: MARC ROMBOY + TRONIK YOUTH + JOSU ARAMBURU

12 midnight: MARC ROMBOY (Systematic, Germany)
Style: Electronic music

Since 2004, German DJ and producer Marc Romboy has been the leading manager of the influential Systematic Recordings label. Now past its 100th release, this label is home to established artists like Blake Baxter and Booka Shade, Robert Babicz and Stephan Bodzin. But it is Romboy’s own output that best defines him: 2013 saw him release the captivating Taiyo in collaboration with Japan’s Ken Ishii, whilst a year later came Shades, a personal compilation of new tracks, standout remixes.

His perfect blend of minimal, techno and house sounds has taken him everywhere from Fabric to Fuse, from Berghain to Rex, as well as to not one but two separate Boiler Room shows: the first time he played solo in Berlin, the second was with Stephan Bodzin in São Paulo.

Topping off the latest chapter in this enduring pioneer’s musical adventure was the 10 Years of Systematic compilation, which includes new tracks from the artists Marc most cherishes such as Audiojack, Jimpster and Dusty Kid. The compilation made it in the Beatport Top 5 Albums and remained in the Top 20 weeks after release.
