In 2014, Madrid’s Teatro Real staged an outstanding version of Richard Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, produced by Peter Sellars back in 2005 and featuring Bill Viola in audio and video production. The opera will be screened at the Museum, courtesy of Teatro Real. His foray into opera inspired some of Viola’s later works, such as Tristan’s Ascension or Fire Woman, now on show at the Museum.
