Learning Through Art 2003

06.03.2003 - 07.06.2003

The artwork created by 168 artists between the ages of 6 and 12 will be displayed in Gallery 103 of the Museum. This exhibition is the outcome of the work and creativity of the schoolchildren who have taken part project during the school year in the sixth edition of the educational program Learning Through Art.

Every year since 1998 the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao Education Department has been sponsoring the Learning Through Art program. The project is a collaboration between the Museum, the Basque Department of Education’s Office of Innovation in Education, the BBK and primary school educators. Based on the premise that art has great potential for stimulating learning, every year artists, schoolchildren, teachers and Museum Educators work together on this initiative in which art becomes a vehicle for reinforcing areas of primary school curriculum such as Mathematics, Language and Literature, and Environmental Awareness.
