Project Turned into Installation

2007Metal structure and acrylic on fabric
500 x 850 cm

In Project Turned into Installation (Proyecto convertido en instalación), 2007, enormous metal fences, like those that separate the public from the playing fields at sports events, are used as supports for the banners that come in various formats with different mottos on them. The colors are loud and irreverent and contain phrases such as: "Olvida a tus padres" [Forget about your parents], "Desprecia el mundo" [Despise the world], "Rechaza el trabajo" [Reject work]. Project Turned into Installation is a singular extension of the representative spaces Juan Pérez Agirregoikoa’s work has contained to date. Inasmuch as it drives his artistic practice and opens it up to the terrains of sculpture and installation, it can be considered one of his most relevant and promising works.
