In this introductory workshop, Paula Betanzos, an enthusiast of nature, music, sculpture, and the decorative arts, will lead you on an exploration of the creative and technical processes behind stained-glass windows, one of the lesser-known aspects of Maria Helena Vieira da Silva’s oeuvre. In 1966, Vieira da Silva was asked to make a stained-glass window for the Église Saint-Jacques in Reims, France. This commission will be used to analyze the painter’s understanding of light as an element that could transform space.
