Play Experiences: Playing with Spare Parts
Admission
€5 Members / €7 general public
More information
Children aged 3-5 must be accompanied by an adult. Both the child and the accompanying adult must have tickets.
In this activity we will handle spare parts in installations to cause wonder, an emotion often aroused by art. The installations will be based on works belonging to the Museum Collection, creating a universe in which everyday objects take on new meanings beyond their original purpose.
What can you find in this room? A series of art installations made with items you will be familiar with – ribbons, boxes, textiles, wires, bowls, and others –, which you can explore and handle in an endless, permeable game where things change as you interact with your environment, with other participants, and with the objects at hand.
You can change whatever you want in the installations. In this activity, play matters, as it can help us go beyond what is personal and transitory.
This play experience feeds on the human tendency to manipulate variables, follow our curiosity, and answer the ever-renewing question “What if…?”, kindling imagination in the stimulating environment provided by the Museum.
It delivers ephemeral results, happening in the here and now without materializing in something permanent, inviting us to explore and create at our own pace as we partake in the global excitement spurred by the game.
