Discover a singular moment in the heart of Madrid’s vibrant cultural scene, known as the movida madrileña, when the iconic Andy Warhol visited the city in 1983 at the invitation of gallery owner Fernando Vijande.
This compelling feature-length documentary, an original idea from the Colección Suñol Soler and the début film of director Sebastián Galán, explores the unusual relationship between Warhol and Vijande and the crucial role they played in shaping Spain’s cultural life in the early 1980s. Featuring Alaska as narrator and produced in 2024 by Artworks No Panic We Are Here, this screening offers a unique opportunity to watch the film before its commercial release. This activity is presented in connection with the Museum’s new collection display, which includes works by Warhol.
