Guggenheim

Iberdrola has been a Strategic Trustee of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao since its opening in 1997, as a member of its two governing bodies: the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees. Since then, the company has given continuous support to the Museum’s most relevant exhibitions, thus showing its strong commitment to the promotion of art and culture in the region where it first saw the light of day. This support is framed within Iberdrola’s social dividend, encompassing all the initiatives aimed at creating value for society.

Working with institutions to promote and add value to culture is one of the main lines of action in the company’s corporate social responsibility policy. In line with this policy, we chose to support the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao project right from its inception, as it would put art, avant-garde and innovation at the service of society, housed in an iconic building that is also a milestone in the history of contemporary architecture. We have been by the Museum’s side for 20 years now, having witnessed its transformation into a cultural reference in the Basque Country, Spain and the world. And we want to continue working together in the promotion of art, for contemplation and joy by society at large.
