Every year, the students of a school in Bilbao and another in New York exchange photos and texts of their art projects, also sharing information about their environments and trying to find what they have in common.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, there was no exchange this year, as the schedule of the Learning Through Art programs in both countries was not the same. Instead, an interactive virtual tour was planned for the students at San Ignacio School in Getxo to visit A Year with Children, the exhibition showing the works of American schoolchildren at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.

In a video call, educator Gabriela O’Leary showed the children in Getxo the works on display on Fifth Avenue. This opened a window into New York City, giving the children in Getxo the chance to take a virtual tour of the New York-based Guggenheim Museum.
