Do you know why red is a characteristic feature of Ferraris?

In the 1920s, colors started to be used to distinguish the cars in races: blue for France, green for United Kingdom, first white and then silver for Germany, and rosso corsa or racing red for Italy. Since then, red has remained the distinctive color of the Ferrari Scuderia.
