Bruselas: capital de Europa
EL DIRECTOR GENERAL DEL MUSEO GUGGENHEIM BILBAO, JUAN IGNACIO VIDARTE, INVITADO A PARTICIPAR EN UN DEBATE SOBRE BRUSELAS: CAPITAL DE EUROPA
El Director General del Museo Guggenheim Bilbao, Juan Ignacio Vidarte, ha sido invitado a tomar parte en un grupo de trabajo que abordará el tema de Bruselas: capital de Europa. Organizado por el Presidente de la Comisión Europea, Romano Prodi y el primer Ministro belga, Verhofstadt, este grupo de trabajo se reunirá en dos ocasiones, la primera de las cuales tendrá lugar mañana 30 de mayo en dicha ciudad, estando prevista la segunda para el próximo otoño.
Enmarcado en el espíritu del Tratado de Niza, este debate tiene como objetivo explorar las condiciones que debe reunir la ciudad de Bruselas para aglutinar los valores comunes y la diversidad de todos los miembros de la Unión que le permitan ser la capital de Europa, características que son muy diferentes a aquéllas que debe reunir la capital de una nación.
¿Qué necesidades debe satisfacer la capital de Europa? ¿Cómo se relacionará con otros centros europeos? Éstas son algunas de las preguntas que se debatirán en estas reuniones que, en palabras del Presidente Prodi, pretenden contemplar las opciones más imaginativas, incluidas las culturales y artísticas, que proporcionarán los diferentes ámbitos profesionales de los participantes.
Entre éstos, además de los citados Prodi, Verhofstadt y Vidarte, se encuentran el escritor Umberto Eco, el ex Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores polaco Bronislaw Geremek, el creador de Swatch Nicholas Hayek, el Director del Festival de Salzburgo Gerard Mortier, el arquitecto holandés Rem Koolhaas, el ex Alcalde de Barcelona Pasqual Maragall, la antropóloga británica Maryon McDonald y la actriz francesa Agnès Jaoui.

Make sure you include the following information: type of video; date, time, and length; what to film (the building, the exhibitions, etc.); interview requests; special information requests.
If your request is approved, you must send a list of all team members before the day of the shooting.
The use of Museum images in videos and other audio-visual productions may be subject to a fee. Our Images Committee reviews every request individually. Since this may take three working days to two full weeks, we suggest you plan your video shooting ahead of time.

All images must be properly attributed, without being altered, cropped, or overwritten. Reproductions other than the aforementioned require approval in writing from the Museum.
