Art After Dark: ADAM PORT + SOULERO DJ'S + ADRIÁN

12:00 midnight: Adam Port (Keinemusik/Freerange, Berlin)
Style: Electronic music
https://soundcloud.com/adam-port

Over the last years, Adam Port landed a string of much noticed releases on different labels. His tunes immediately brought worldwide attention to his name. But instead of doing the obvious – getting a manager, meeting demands, playing in big stages, delivering hits –, Adam did what felt best for him: maintaining artistic integrity, not knowing where it might be on the very next release, and keeping DJ sets not only interesting for a crowd, but also to himself.

There is no scene-dictated tunnel view in his activities; there is only a pointed emphasis on style, on groove and sophistication. An emphasis that is advanced enough to always shine through the inflationary characteristic of the genre as notably original.

What Adam Port is laying his hands on might have its place within the parameters of house and techno, but it is always more than that. It is his style.

11:00 pm: Soulero! DJs (Kiosko del Arenal, Bilbao)
Style: Soul
https://es-es.facebook.com/groups/181471368612412/

Soulero! DJs is the group formed by the eponymous club in Kiosko del Arenal to play soul every three months – a quarterly encounter with the most danceable black music, by now a classic of Bilbao’s nightlife.

In their vinyl-only sessions, you can listen to soul and funk classics, rarities and the latest releases – a broad spectrum of sounds and decades.

The men behind Soulero! DJs are DJ Satte (a restless DJ and collector who used to be in charge of the program at Kalian in Leioa), Borja Guereñu (DJ, musician and event planner since the 1980s) and Alex Subinas (one of the organizers of Soul 4 Real, one of the most prestigious soul festivals in Spain and a record label too).

10:00 pm: Adrián (Fever/Shake!, Bilbao)
Style: Groove & rock
http://fever.es/

Adrián has been “preaching the message” for over 15 years. He took his first steps at Comic’s, an underground joint where a whole generation of Bilbaínos learnt to love black music. Then, at Bullitt Groove Club (his club), he entrusted himself with a mission. Now he performs regularly at the leading venue Fever, also in Bilbao. Adrián has shared the DJ booth with Keb Darge, “Jazzman” Gerald, Eddie Piller (Acid Jazz), Oli Stewart (Casbah 73), Jadd (Improvisto), Mark Taylor (Blue Note), Ian Wright, Andy Lewis and Wayne Kra, among others.
