Christmas Workshops: Winter Soil: Art beneath Your Feet
Admission

Location
Meeting point and time: Group admission desk, 11:00 am
We seldom take a look at the ground we are standing on, but there is a world brimming with life beneath our feet: roots, seeds, leaves… a hidden life. The artists that are part of our exhibition Arts of the Earth invite us to discover the beauty and complexity of the soil as an ecosystem and as a source of inspiration in art.
In this workshop, we will explore the shapes and textures of the winter soil, when cold and moisture protect the life hidden in subsurface layers. Then, we will make our own winter soil fragments using clay, earth, leaves, seeds, and roots. Finally, we will bring all fragments together in a huge group mural – a symbol of the ground we share, the ground that connects us all. This workshop is a collaborative sensory experience in art and nature, raising our environmental awareness.
