Location

Venue and time: Museum Library, 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm

As part of our exhibition Arts of the Earth, this creative session focusing on the Japanese art of Kokedama will help you activate your connection with nature. Led by artist Itziar Unzurrunzaga, we will get acquainted with this traditional art form, dating back centuries, where a plant’s root ball is removed from its pot, wrapped in a special soil mixture, and then coated with moss. A Kokedama is a symbol of strength and union. In this workshop, we will make our own balls of soil, wrapped in moss and secured with string. We will also learn about the soil and its characteristics, and about oral traditions in different cultures.

Duration: 90 min.
