This documentary with fictional elements takes a look at the life of Portuguese artist Maria Helena Vieira da Silva and her partner, Hungarian painter Árpád Szenes. It focuses on their intimate writing between 1932 and 1961, revealing the sensitivity of the world they built together and the work each of them did on their own. Vieira da Silva and Szenes’s writing is supplemented with a thorough documentation of their social, intellectual, and political milieu, including archival images. The film, released in 2022, is a Zulfilmes production, directed by João Mário Grilo.
