The lovers of opera on big screen have an appointment at the Museum Auditorium with Dead Man Walking, first opera composed by Jake Heggie based on the homonymous book by sister Helen Prejean, which Tim Robbins made into a film. A drama about death sentence and the redemptive power of love. Libretto by Terrence McNally. Premiere in Spain at the Teatro Real in 2018, with mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato in the leading role, Mark Wigglesworth as music director, Leonardo Foglia as stage director, and stage design by Michael McGarty. A different opera to close this season of collaborations with Teatro Real.
