The surfaces of the spheres in Anish Kapoor’s Tall Tree and the Eye sculpture reflect and refract each other, drawing onlookers into their visual game. Meanwhile, the sun and the water of the nearby Estuary shimmer over the titanium skin of the Museum building.
Inspired by Frank Gehry’s architecture and Kapoor’s sculpture, we will create different reflective structures and artefacts, full scale and in small models, that we can play around with and have fun. Using light and our own image as our starting point, we will experiment with different textures and materials to uncover all manner of distorted reflections.
