Japan is Cool

Would you like to learn a few things about Japan – e.g. Japanese lifestyles, art, and looks? If you are 13 to 16 years old, enjoy activities in English, and are interested in meeting new people, this is the right place for you!

Based on the exhibition dedicated to Yoshitomo Nara, we will dive into contemporary Japanese culture, drawing inspiration from Nara’s works and the creations of other Japanese artists to make our own designs.

A series of workshops held during the week will explore the connections between art and popular culture, focusing on music, food, comic books, manga and design, among other topics. The workshops will be conducted in English by artists and experts in a variety of fields. Japan Is Cool will show you multiple ways of creating objects, as well as multiple sources of inspiration in the Museum’s exhibitions.

We will give you ideas and show the ways to realize them. You choose the final outcome! Using creativity as your main tool, you will try different media for your creations.
