Gallery 209

Barbara Kruger frequently revisits her earlier works, reusing words, phrases, or images and translating them into new media, contexts, or scales. Between 2019 and 2020, she reconfigured several of her 1980s photo-collages as animated LED video works. These “replays,” as Kruger calls them, deepen her exploration of how language and image shape meaning. Her most recent piece in this gallery, Untitled (Verdad), continues this investigation—prompting reflection on the shifting nature of truth itself. Together, these works demonstrate Kruger’s sustained commitment to challenging our perceptions of culture, power, and identity.
