Gallery 203
Untitled (Forever) is a site-specific installation designed by Kruger for this gallery. Spanning walls and floor, it surrounds visitors with bold text in Spanish and Basque. Two literary references anchor the work: George Orwell’s dystopian warning—“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—forever”—and a pointed excerpt from Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own on the role of women as mirrors for male power. Immersive and provocative, the installation reflects Kruger’s belief that language shapes perception, reinforces hierarchies, and holds the potential to expose them.
