Rothko. Sections/Intersections
Mark Rothkose, (Dvinsk, Rusia [actualmente Daugavpils, Letonia], 1903 -Nueva York, 1970). Rothko’s works are included in Abstract Expressionism, an American art movement of mid-20th century. In Untitled (1952–53), Rothko uses vivid, warm colors: orange, yellow, and different shades of red. This palette plus its large size led one critic to describe these paintings as “walls of light” or “color fields.”
