Extraordinary Meeting of the Boards of Trustees of the Guggenheim Museums of Bilbao and New York

On the occasion of the Museum's 25th Anniversary, representatives of the Boards of Trustees of the Guggenheim Museums of New York and Bilbao met today in Bilbao, together with Members of the Advisory Council of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and Honor Members of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, with a single item on the agenda: "The Assessment of the first 25 years of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and future prospects.

Chaired by the President of the Basque Government, Iñigo Urkullu, the meeting was attended by Unai Rementeria, Deputy General of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and Chairman of the Executive Committee, J. Tomilson Hill, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, and Juan Mari Aburto, Mayor of Bilbao, as well as the Directors of the three museums, Richard Armstrong, from New York; Karole Vail, from Venice; and Juan Ignacio Vidarte, from Bilbao.

This group will take advantage of their stay in the city to attend tonight the 25th Anniversary Commemorative Dinner at the Museum, which will be attended by individuals, companies and organizations whose contributions make possible the development of the activity of the Museum.

During the meeting, a review of the balance of the 25 years of activity of the Museum has been made. The most outstanding milestones are attached in this report.

How can I get permission to take pictures or shoot a video inside or outside the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao?

Just send an email to media@guggenheim-bilbao.eus, indicating your request.

Make sure you include the following information: type of video; date, time, and length; what to film (the building, the exhibitions, etc.); interview requests; special information requests.

If your request is approved, you must send a list of all team members before the day of the shooting.

The use of Museum images in videos and other audio-visual productions may be subject to a fee. Our Images Committee reviews every request individually. Since this may take three working days to two full weeks, we suggest you plan your video shooting ahead of time.

How can I get images of the Museum building or the exhibitions to publish in the media?

Just follow this link and download the images you need. For urgent requests, please contact us by email or phone.

All images must be properly attributed, without being altered, cropped, or overwritten. Reproductions other than the aforementioned require approval in writing from the Museum.

How can I get an exhibition’s press kit?

You will find all the relevant information about the exhibitions in the Press Room of our website. Once there, go to PRESS RELEASES > EXHIBITIONS.

How can I get a press pass for the Museum?

Just show your press card at the admission desk for free admission. Please bear in mind that journalists are granted free admission to the Museum in exchange for promotion of the Museum’s exhibitions, activities, and events.

How can I get information about the Museum’s exhibitions and news?
