Born on March 10.
Enrolls in the faculty of fine arts at the Universidad del País Vasco in Leioa, graduating in 1982.
Badiola’s work is selected for the IV Bienal de Pintura de Bilbao.
Has his first solo exhibition, at the Aula de Cultura de la Caja de Ahorros Municipal in Bilbao.
Badiola’s first exhibition in a private gallery takes place at Galería Windsor Kulturgintza in Bilbao. He also exhibits at Galeria Metrònom in Barcelona and Galería Ciudadela in Pamplona.
Begins teaching in the faculty of fine arts at the Universidad del País Vasco, continuing to teach at the school until 1988.
Receives a grant from the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
Founds the EAE (Euskal Artisten Elkartea [Basque Artists’ Association]), together with artists José Chavete, Iñaki de la Fuente, José Ramón Morquillas, Fernando and Vicente
Roscubas, and Txupi Sanz and art critic and professor Xabier Sáenz de Gorbea. Receives a grant from the province of Vizcaya.
Exhibits at Galería Windsor Kulturgintza in Bilbao.
Wins second prize at Gure Artea 1984, sponsored by the Basque government.
