
Participation in professional Forums
The members of our working group Gu-Zero attend environmental forums and conventions on a regular basis to share experiences, promote the values associated with sustainability, raise awareness among target audiences, and place the Museum at the forefront of eco-friendly organizations in the artistic field.
Below are some of the events we attended in the past few years.

Held in October 2023, the symposium organized by World Art Foundations (WAF) in collaboration with the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao brought together leaders from museums and art foundations to present their environmental sustainability strategies, share best practices, and offer participants insights and solutions to help them begin their own sustainability journeys.

This forum, held in the summer of 2023, brought together creative professionals and leading researchers in Earth system science to present their current work and contribute ideas for potential collaborations that could have a positive impact on our planet.

Several speakers from some of the most prestigious design schools in the world addressed the global economy and the future of human societies in September 2022.

In October 2022, this event brought together some of the most prominent artists, scientists, and technologists working globally on climate change and the challenges it presents.

Green Museum Summit
In August 2022, the Gugenheim Museum Bilbao attended this leading forum to share our strategies and initiatives in staging temporary exhibitions.

International Climate Control Conference
In December 2022, the Museum presented new, more flexible climate control standards for works of art in this international conference.

Gallery Climate Coallition
In 2025, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao renewed its active membership in the Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC), which thus recognized the Museum’s efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its activity over the previous year.
In 2023, the Museum became the first museum in Spain to join the Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC), an international community of arts organizations working to reduce the sector’s environmental impacts.
